Fall 2011 Basic- EMT Program class starts September 19, 2011 Classes Monday & Wednesday evenings 7-10 PM and every other Saturday 9 AM to 1PM ( starting with Saturday September 24, 2011 tentative program completion January 19, 2012( Massachusetts Licensing Examination approx Feb 15, 2012)
Program located at Linden Ponds Derby Clubhouse 200 Linden Ponds Drive Hingham , Massachusetts (located on Route 18 approximately at South Weymouth/Hingham line.)
EMS Training LTD limits it's class size to 18 (less than 50% of the allowed capacity), to maintain a high level of student/instructor interface and personal attention. Programming is a balance of both practical and didactic to maximize each student's strengths and to successfully prepare them for the practice and possible career in emergency medical services.
The 140+ hour long EMT-Basic Program with EMS
Training LTD offers comprehensive classroom training, including the
opportunity for emergency room observation at a major inner city Trauma Center
and operation and extrication field exercises.
Additionally each student is provided with their own individual Body Substance
Isolation and Patient Assessment equipment kit, at no additional charge.
As part of this program, Students
also receive a
Healthcare Provider CPR Card from the American Heart
Association . Students
if they are currently certified by the American Heart Association Healthcare
Provider CPR or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR level, may elect to
waive this requirement (though they are advised to participate as a current
refresher) their card
must remain current throughout the EMT-Basic Program.
After successfully completing the EMT-Basic Program, students are eligible for the State Certification and Licensing Examination, which as an aid to the student will be coordinated by EMS Training LTD and initially offered at the training site. EMS Training LTD training programs also qualify participants for testing and certification by the National Registry of EMTs ;Such Licensing examination is anticipated teh first week(s) of June. Additional instruction and practice will be available in preparation for the examination process ( included in course tuition)
You must be at least 18 years of age at the
time of testing for
licensing as an EMT The testing for this program is
anticipated to be scheduled in the first weeks of February 2012 , individuals not
eligible at that time have a years eligibility extending to Jan1, 2013
