The ACLS Instructor Course (8 hours) is designed to assist ACLS Instructor
candidates develop proficiency in teaching ACLS using currently accepted
techniques for teaching adult learners. Prerequisites: Current ACLS Provider
and BLS-HCP cards and 2 letters of recommendation with 1 letter being from the
director of your most recent ACLS Provider course. Student instructors will
actively participate in all the ACLS stations, both in the role of student as
well as instructor. Demonstration lecture topics are assigned prior to the
program. Successful course completion is measured through (1) score of 90% or
greater on the ACLS final exam, (2) satisfactory performance during integrated
Mega Code, (3) satisfactory demonstration lecture, and (4) successful
completion of required monitoring. Course completion card issued upon
successful completion of all requirements, card is valid for 2 years from month
of issue. The minimum obligation for teaching is valid documentation of
teaching 2 ACLS courses each year (a total of 4 programs) before coming to
renew the instructor status.
Intended Audience: Licensed healthcare professionals with
current ACLS Provider status who wish to teach the ACLS programs following
currently accepted techniques for teaching adult learners.
ACLS-EP Instructor Orientation
Approved for 8.5 contact hours, The ACLS-EP Instructor Orientation program
is intended to prepare a current ACLS Instructor to effectively present the
Experienced Provider content. Prerequisites: Current, active ACLS Instructor
with current ACLS-EP card. Successful course completion is determined by
effective performance in all EP learning stations and the BLS-AED skills
station, satisfactory completion of 2 monitored teaching stations. Instructor
card issued following successful completion of all requirements, valid for 2
years. Renewal requirements for the EP Instructor credential include teaching
one (1) EP course each year as part of the required two (2) ACLS courses per
year for regular ACLS Instructors.
Intended Audience: Current ACLS Instructors with positive student
comments regarding their teaching abilities and who have completed the ACLS-EP
provider renewal course.
PALS Instructor
The PALS Instructor Course (8 hours) is designed to assist PALS Instructor

techniques for teaching adult learners. Prerequisites: Current
PALS Provider and BLS-HCP cards and 2 letters of recommendation with 1 letter
